2017 Labour Protetion Act Amendments: Statutory Retirement Age and Retiree Entitlements Recent proposed amendments to the Thailand’s Labour Protection Act (1998) (LPA) aim to set a statutory retirement age of 60 years for workers in Thailand and also provide retirees with a statutory entitlement to severance pay. The amended Act is currently being reviewed by the Office of the Council of State. It is expected that the amended Act will enter into force within 2017. Young Key Staff Visit to SCG Open Innovation Centre

On Tuesday 25 July, three DLO staff, Mr. Ryan Crowley (Foreign Services Manager), Mr. Chalapun Jen (Business Consulting Department) and Mr. Wanvisa Silathong (Litigation Department) attended the Dharmniti Group’s Young Key Staff Visit to the SCG Open Innovation Centre. The visit was very interesting and rewarding as the participants were able to learn a great deal about the impact of technology and innovation and how SCG had managed to expand its operations and profit through research and development of new and existing products.
