Dharmniti Law Office welcomes Mr Abhisit Vejjajiva and the Russian investor group

17 December 2019, Mr.Paisal Phuechmongkol, Mr.Phichai Phuechmongkol and Mr.Kittirut Lurcha, Senior Partner and lawyer of Dharmniti Law Office jointly welcome and have a meeting with Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, former Prime Minister of Thailand and group of Russian investors in high-tech industry to  co-operate on trade and investment between group of investors of both  countries. The atmosphere of the meeting was full of joy and friendship. Both parties  shared their opinions on situation of  security and geo-politics of ASEAN region including friendship relation of Thai and Russia which have last for a long time. Both sides also discussed about new projects in trade and investment for further cooperation in the near future.

Barriers to Sharing Lowered by Creative Commons Licenses in Thailand

  April 2, 2009 —  Bangkok, Thailand and Berlin, Germany Creative Commons Thailand has adapted the Creative Commons licenses to Thai law. The localized licenses, launching April 2, enable Thai creators to easily share creative works by lowering legal barriers and prohibitive transaction costs. The Thai team, led by Mr. Phichai Phuechmongkol of Dharmniti Law Office (DLO), conducted the porting and public discussion of the Thai licenses with local and international legal experts. These efforts draw upon partners working pro-bono on the project from DLO, Change Fusion Institute, Thammasat University, and Prince of Songkla University, with generous support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation’s ICT Plan for Online Health and Partner Support. Cabinet has approved several tax measures to stimulate thai economics.

On 21 January 2009,Thai Cabinet has approved several tax measures to stimulate thai economics during the economics crisis.   Summary of key tax measures,effective retrospectively on January 1, 2009, follows : 1. Increase of the minimum assessable income (other than salary income) for individuals or a group of individuals that is subject to 0.5% income tax from THB 60,000 to THB 1 million. The individuals or group of individuals who earn less than THB 1 million would not be subject to income tax. 2. Increase amount of assessable income that is exempt for corporate income tax from THB 1.2 million to THB 1.8 million for the income earned in 2009 and 2010. 3. The Deposit Protection Agency Act is deliberated in Thai Parliament

The Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) Act is now deliberated in Thai Parliament after the Cabinet approved the bill on August 28, 2007. The main points of this bill are as follows : To set up the DPA to be a juristic person. To set up the deposit protection fund. To set rules and regulations of reimbursement. To ensure that the DPA reimburses financial institution’s client in case of default. To set up penalties for non compliant institutions or persons that use symbols to identify their business that they are covered under this act. DLO and TRN signed MOU with Creative Commons International

On August 21, 2007, Mr.Phichai Phuechmongkol, Managing director of DLO and Mr.Sunit Shrestha, Director of TRNLab, has signed MOU with Dr.Catharina Maracke of Creative Common International (Berlin) to port Creative Common Licenses (CCL) for Thailand jurisdiction. The project should complete within 3 months. This MOU raise Thailand to be the country in the Upcoming Project Jurisdictions on CC website.
